Rheumatology is the sub-specialty of medicine devoted to diagnosis and therapy of arthritis, diseases of the joints, muscles, bones and all rheumatic conditions. This clinic, is handled by our Consultant Rheumatologist.

 

Many of the rheumatic diseases and conditions feature immune system abnormalities. Therefore, rheumatology also involves the study of the immune system.

 

Because some rheumatic diseases are complex, one visit to our rheumatologist may not be enough to determine a diagnosis and course of treatment. These diseases often change or evolve over time. At The Limi Hospital, our Rheumatologist works closely with patients to identify the problem and design an individualized treatment program.

 

Our Rheumatologist also works closely with our Orthopaedic Surgeon, who perform joint replacements, soft tissue reconstruction and repair and nerve decompression, and with radiologists who report on X-rays, CT, MRI and Ultrasound scans.
