Question about your Insurance

Can I walk into The Limi Hospital to See a Specialist under my Health Insurance Plan?

 

Yes you most certainly can. However, HMO guidelines stipulate that walk-in requests for Secondary Care Services are cannot be entertained. In order to see a specialist, you will be required to see a one of our Primary Care Personal Physicians, who will assess you and, where necessary will forward you to see the Specialist within the guidelines of your HMO.

 

I have Misplaced my hospital card and I dont know my file number, How can I retrieve it to enable me see the Doctor?

Misplaced hospital card/number? Not a problem. At The Limi Hospital, we make use of an automated Electronic Hospital Management System and have all records at our disposal. Please speak to any member of the Front Desk and they will easily retrieve it for you in a matter of moments.

 

Does My Health Insurance Plan Cover Fertility Treatment?

Most Health insurance plans do not cover for fertility treatment which includes related fertility drugs, lab tests, diagnostic imagine and more. 

However, we encourage you to speak with your HMO to clarify if you are eligible to undergo such treatments.

 

What is a Pre-Authorization Code and when do I need one?

Under health insurance guidelines, all Secondary Care treatment including specialist consultation, drugs and related investigations require a pre-authorization code before the service is provided to the Patient.

 

This means that once a secondary care treatment is required, your HMO must be informed of the course of treament and management of your case chosen by the hospital and will authorize the Hospital to administer the service to you. Please note that this requirement must be met at all points of secondary care administration and could take between a few minutes to a couple of days depending on the nature of the approval being sought.
